Published by SarahP on 12 Nov 2009 at 12:30 pm under BookRabbit

The competition is now closed. The big moment has arrived… our winner drawn from all our blog and Twitter entries is… Alexander!

Congratulations – we’ll email you now to confirm, and you can tell us your address so we can send you your pretty darn fabulous prize – we hope you enjoy it.

Thanks everyone for entering. Coming up tomorrow is a treat for all you Twi-hards – we have some very special New Moon giveaways, so hope to see you back here tomorrow.

To mark the explosive return of reluctant teenage super spy Alex Rider in Crocodile Tears, we have a signed copy to give away! Plus an Anthony Horowitz goodie bag courtesy of those very nice folk at Walker Books.

Crocodile Tears by Anthony Horowitz

Crocodile Tears is the eighth title in Anthony Horowitz’s internationally bestselling Alex Rider series. Targeted by a hitman and under threat of his past being exposed by the media, Alex Rider reluctantly turns to MI6. Their help doesn’t come cheap: they need Alex to spy on a GM crop research centre. There, he spots Desmond McCain, the high-profile head of an international charity who seems too good to be true. He is. Kidnapped and whisked off to Africa, Alex learns the full horror of McCain’s plot: to create an epic disaster that will kill millions.

LONDON – Saturday November 14th
In association with the Hay Festival
Venue: Apollo Theatre, 31 Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 7EZ
Start time: 4:00 pm
Box office: 01497 822629,  HYPERLINK “http://www.hayfestival.com” www.hayfestival.com
Price: £5
Anthony will be interviewed live on-stage by writer/broadcaster Paul Blezard.
Anthony will also be taking plenty of questions from the audience. This is YOUR opportunity to ask him exactly what you want, whether it’s about ALEX RIDER, FOYLE’S WAR, THE POWER OF FIVE, COLLISION or his stance on CRB checks for authors. Anthony says the strangest questions he’s been asked at previous events are “do you have a tattoo?”, “is Horowitz your real name?” and “do you like rhubarb?” Beat that if you can!

For a chance to win the signed copy and goodie bag, just leave a comment below OR re-tweet the message we’ll be posting daily on Twitter @theBookRabbit and we’ll enter you in the draw. This competition will self-destruct next Thursday 19 November at 12 noon. We’ll pick a winner shortly after, and post the winner’s name here, and on Twitter. In invisible ink.

Good luck everyone!

Brilliant prize! Would love to win this. Somehow I always come last on the reading list when we get a new Anthony Horowitz, but if I won it, it would be mine, I could read it first and then they would all have to be VERY nice to me…..

You’d have to ask the great political question of the year,
“what’s your favourite kind of biscuit ?”

  12. Alexanderon 13 Nov 2009 at 5:30 pm

Don’t give it to my brother, he hates having his hair cut, give it to me as a reward for having him as a brother!!!

I think, if you take a moment to ask yourself one simple question, you’ll know it’s safest to send this book my way. The question: Who hired the hitman? Now, I’m not suggesting anything here, mwahaaahaaa, but I know where you rabbiteers work!
