I couldn't finish 'Winnie and Wolf' (A.N. Wilson) - the Hitler and European philosophy was fine, it was the opera that put me off!
I think the bookies favourites rarely collide with what the judges pick. I think last year the favourite was McEwan, I don't think anyone saw Anne Enright creeping up on the prize. |
