by Kieron Smith on May 14, 2008 11:23:25 AM We were giving away books based on our personal bookselling skills and our view of what you'd bought - how did we do? Did we hit the spot or miss it by a mile, let us know!
Thanks Kieron |

by Martyn Illingworth on May 21, 2008 7:18:04 PM Fantastic! I ordered 'The Library at Night' by Alberto Manguel and was sent 'The Accidental' by Ali Smith free. It's one of those books that I've always meant to read, but just never got around to ordering it - now I don't have to. The free book thing is a *brilliant* idea.

by Sharon S on May 23, 2008 3:54:29 PM I was sent a copy of The Electric MichelAngelo http://www.bookrabbit.com/catalogue/detail/bookid/763038/The-Electric-Michelangelo
this isnt a book i would normally have chosen for myself - I am only a short way into it so far and am liking it :) though i dont tend to read 'historical' fiction so i am not finding it as easy to read as the latest Sophie Kinsella or Marian Keyes ;) Will come back and post on here when i have finished it |

by Dee Atkin on May 23, 2008 3:59:55 PM I ordered The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Two Caravans by Marina Lewycka and 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult.
My magical mystery book was The Accidental by Ali Smith, and it's spot on. One of those books I've always meant to read, and I can see where my picker was coming from. A top choice! |

by Miriam Barber on May 23, 2008 4:15:27 PM I was sent "Dancing with Eva" by Alan Judd - which I think is a pretty spot-on choice, based on my bookshelves and on my order! (I'd ordered some Patrick Gale books after reading and loving "Rough Music"). I'm looking forward to reading it, it's very "me"!

by Beverley S on May 24, 2008 12:02:26 PM My free book arrived this morning and I am very impressed :) I would have chosen the book myself if I had known about it but am very grateful to the BR for selecting this book for me - a gold star for recognising topics which would interest me.
The book I received is 'Reading Lolita in Tehran' (A memoir in Books) by Azar Nafisi. I even love the cover of the book and would be delighted to add this to my bookshelf. Thank you for my free book which will be a good follow up when I have finished my current book. I am very pleased with the choice made for me :) A new author for me too. The choice was very much 'me' I just love to 'read and learn' and am not so much of a 'read to escape' person. Well done BR :) |

by Sion GC on Jun 2, 2008 2:17:39 PM Just wanted to say many thanks for the free book - the choice was spot on. I was sent Engleby by Sebastian Faulks, a book which was on my 'to buy' list, so full marks for the choice. I've read Birdsong and Charlotte Gray, so am looking forward to this one, especially as I live a little way outside Cambridge. Will have to wait a little before I get to read it though, as my husband's stolen it and is really enjoying it!
