Has anyone listened to this programme hosted for Radio 4 by Sue McGregor? The format is that Sue invites two guests, often authors, onto the programme and they all put forward one novel for discussion and the choices are discussed. I have often picked up reading ideas from this, and reread one or two novels on the strength of it.

The most amazing one was Address Unknown by Taylor Cresswell. This was originally written for the New Yorker apparently in the late 30s. It is very short and was put forward by Sue herself, but, she said, it was impossible to say much about it. I read it immediately and it blows your head off. AND you will see why she could say nothing about it.....

I have reviewed this under My Books. Give it a try.

Is it the "Kressman Taylor" one? If so, it does look good! I'm outside the UK, but I'm going to try to find that radio show -- maybe it's available on the BBC website.

Thanks for the recommendations!

Here's a short (and really enjoyable) book: Days and Nights in W12 by Jack Robinson. I've got a review up too.

Yes cricket, that is the Kressman Taylor one.

The website for BBC Radio 4 is: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/agoodread.shtml
Unfortunately the Listen Again option is not available - I believe that was the website feature that allowed you to listen to the old shows again. However, the previous show is being repeated every Friday night at 11pm, which you should be able to listen live from the website. You might need to figure out the time difference since you're in Paris.

Hope this helps!
