I haven't read as far as Arsenic Labyrinth, but thought Coffin Trail and Cipher Garden were fantastic, the characters and the cold case review angle seemed really fresh.

I'd also really recommend checking out Rupert Holmes' Where the Truth Lies http://www.bookrabbit.com/catalogue/detail/bookid/1512388/Where-the-Truth-Lies - he captures the period (flicking between 1950s and 1970s Hollywood) so well and it's such a page-turner.

Agreed , really enjoyed Martin Edwards' . The Arsenic Labyrinth - I think you'd enjoy Stuart Pawson if you like him. I haven't tried any Ann Cleeves . is there one you'd recommend to start with ?

Two A&B authors who I think are very good are Martin Edwards and Ann Cleeves.

Hi ,

Just to let Crime and Thriller fans know that we have some great titles availabe from the country's best independent crime publisher , Allison and Busby. I have just finished reading Grief Encounters by Stuart Pawson and thought it was right up there with Rankin and Dexter at their best . Also available is the latest novel from the superb Marshall Karp , Blood Thirsty. This is his second novel , and the first , Rabbit Factory ( Rabbit Factory / BookRabbit .. cool ) is also in the promotion. If you like your crime to have a humorous and playful edge , then you should give Marshall a go - very similar to Hiassen and Brookmyre in style. Marshall is a member of BookRabbit and would be happy to join in with any discussions etc. To see the full list of titles in the promotion , click here
